When Rajinikanth is on screen, it feels like the air is charged with his presence. He raises the energy, people cheer, and all dialogue evokes nods of celebration. Coolie serves as testament number fourteen that this superstar still knows how to rule a movie. Fast moving direction, stylish movement took the attitude of mass entertainment, comedy, and emotions and braided them rather than separating them as one would expect.
The coolie story is a man’s journey as a coolie with a huge past living a modest life HAULING PEOPLE around the RAILWAY STATION and then BOOM, trouble always comes his way. Trouble rides in with a gang with precisely the opposite motives of the coolie and that describes the coolie’s hidden side. From here, the film takes us on a journey involving High Volute Action and emotional jibes.
The plotted story is clearer and more linear than Arjun, but the storytelling kept you connected at all intervals. Rajinikanth’s character embodies a character of both comic and serious renditions of self. It seems in one second your laughing and the next he is taking it to another level while delivering powerful punch dialogue.
Rajinikanth’s Performance in Coolie
Rajinikanth is the soul of the film and there are reasons why he has been given the title ‘Superstar.’ His stylistic sensibilities, timing and body language keep reminding the viewers of his star power. Even at this stage of his career, Rajinikanth’s presence is rivaled by no one. He has a natural aura in emotional scenes and tantalizing energy in the action scenes.
His introduction scene is perfectly timed to ensure whistles on release day in theaters. Every line of dialogue was short, sharp, and stylish. To this day, his comic timing can make everyone laugh, and he can generate applause with his fight choreography.
Supporting Cast
The supporting cast and supporting roles serve their purpose in the film.
The heroine, obviously, doesn’t have a lot of screen time but she still becomes the bedrock of the film, so in some minor way, she has importance in the film.
The villain was powerful enough to at least play enough of a role to keep answering to Rajinikanth’s intensity on screen.
Some minor roles give a little humour to provide the audience with some frequent but slight moments of humour between the hard-hitting action.
Direction and Screenplay
The director Lokesh kanakaraj obviously knows what Rajinikanth’s fans want. Each scene was meticulously crafted to sustain the superstar’s image. The first half was relatively light with more moments of fun and character build-up. The second half became serious where hard hitting action was emphasised with an abundance of high intensity action sequence locks that finish each other off.
The screenplay is tight. Nothing feels drawn out, even the emotional portions are so short, the film keeps energy up.
Action and Music
The action is choreographed in a blend of classic style and modern techniques. Rajinikanth’s stylish swag, slow-motion shots, and gravity defying tricks are all evident. The audioscapes are key to creating the excitement.
The songs are catchy, with good placement. Anirudh Ravichander has cooked this Film .One mass song in the first half creates a mood, while one emotional song in the second half adds texture to the story.
Cinematography and Visuals
The film is vibrant and colourful. The train station scenes feel real, and are full of people and activity. The action sequences are captured so that audiences can see the movements clearly, and they aren’t confused by editing. The lighting in important moments, particularly Rajinikanth’s introduction, were cinematic and grand.
Strengths of the Film
Weak Points
Coolie was a celebration of Rajinikanth’s star power. It was made for all Rajinikanth fanatics, and it gives them exactly what they wanted with his charm. It has all the moments to cheer fans a lot with the emotional bits balanced as well because Rajinikanth can also make you feel as much as he can make you clap – from his well-known walk to his fashionable moves while beating the bad guys.
